International Cesarean Awareness Network Forum Guidelines

ICAN’s mission is to prevent unnecessary cesareans through education, to provide support for cesarean recovery, and to promote VBAC.

1.   We strive to maintain a mutually supportive and welcoming community. Please assist us by behaving responsibly and respectfully towards other members of the ICAN community.

2.   Please post in the appropriate forum. If a thread is misplaced or if the thread moves off topic, ICAN reserves the right to move it to the appropriate forum or delete it. Please note that we ask that all off topic conversations be posted in the Off Topic forum.  This includes any post not directly related to ICAN’s mission.  If you are unsure as to the appropriateness of your post, please contact the forum moderator of your forum for guidance.

3.   Due to the diversity of opinions and experiences represented in this community, differences of opinion, debates, and conflict will occur. Please work with the community and the forum staff to resolve conflict constructively.  Taking care to keep threads appropriate to their respective forums will help prevent conflict as will remaining respectful toward each other, regardless of topic or circumstance.  Consistently disrespectful or hostile posts can be grounds for discipline or removal from a forum.

4.   Do not forward posts from this forum without the express permission of the author.  Doing so can be grounds for removal from the forums.

5.   With regard to signatures, pictures within the signature are not permitted nor are more than 2 tickers.  Tickers must be no more than 100 pixels tall each (no 'ticker boxes').  Avatars are not affected - please feel free to post what you wish as an avatar.

6.   Chapter Leaders and other representatives of ICAN must follow the signature guidelines as outlined in the Chapter Leader Guidebook.

7.   If you believe a member has broken the forum guidelines, you may click on the “report to moderator” link in the lower right hand corner of the offending post to report it to the forum moderators. When filling out the report form, please be specific about why you are reporting the post. Please note that reporting does not automatically remove the post, it is a manual process.

8.   Each forum member is allowed only one account. If you feel that you have a legitimate need for a second account, please contact a forum moderator privately with an explanation of why you need a second account.

9.   To protect your privacy, do not share your unique password and log-in information with other individuals.

10.   ICAN reserves the right to remove or edit the contents of any post or signature that goes against the forum guidelines, or is otherwise deemed offensive or inappropriate. Though we will strive to be a voice for the community as a whole, allowing for expression of diverse points of view, ICAN reserves the sole right to decide what is deemed offensive or inappropriate.

Bienvenida al foro de la Red Internacional para la Concientización de la Cesárea (International Cesarean Awareness Network o ICAN).
