Initially we were told there is a ban, however when asked what would happen if a woman refused surgery, the nurse manager recommended discussing it with the doctor, that it is the doctor's decision to permit VBAC and they might not do a c-section.  Seemed supportive of the idea of showing up and refusing. Information received via website feedback 9/09 indicates that this is a formal ban: All patients desiring VBACs at Saranac Lake Hospital are referred to CVPH Med center .
