Dr. Gonzalez, Dr. Schuler, Dr. Darnell--not real common for people to ask for them. Common practice is c/s but they talk to Dr. Gonzalez, Never see VBACs. There are so many contraindications. When they’ve stitched up the uterus your’re at higher risk of rupture, you don’t have muscle contractibility. It’s higher risk for you and your baby. I have not seen one done in forever. We try to avoid as much risk as we can. But talk to the doctor. She seemed to recommend Dr. Gonzalez. On refusing: If you refused a c/s, they can’t force you. But you need to be aware that if a complication arose, you would be in an emergency c/s. at that point you don’t have a choice. Otherwise you would be jeopardizing you and your baby. The nurse was actually very kind.  I told her my c/s was an emergency and that I experienced an infection and had to be re-hospitalized. She seemed to understand the trauma of that, and went on to assure me that a planned c/s would be totally different.  Much better, more calm, reduced risk of infection with planned.  She seemed very convinced that VBAC is an inherently dangerous thing.
